It’s become a tradition that we follow each Raspberry Pi model with a system-on-module variant based on the same core silicon. With four RAM options, four Flash options, and optional wireless connectivity, we have a total of 32 variants, with prices ranging from $25 (for the 1GB RAM, Lite, no wireless variant) to $90 (for the 8GB RAM, 32GB Flash, wireless variant).
The 3.4 Pallas-Yllästunturi release includes several updates that enhance the experience on-device, enable new possibilities for developers, and incorporate new features for our corporate customers. Several improvements in this release were developed in collaboration with Open Mobile Platform for Aurora OS.
Our main focus in v0.13 is paving the way for a v1.0 release of Crossplane. Over the course of this release we have honed our core Composition and Package Manager APIs. With the help of the community we’ve arrived at APIs that we feel confident will reach v1beta1 imminently without significant breaking changes.
It is now possible to perform chosen-prefix attacks against the SHA-1 algorithm for less than USD$50K. For this reason, we will be disabling the "ssh-rsa" public key signature algorithm by default in a near-future release.
Recently, version 3.0 of Knot DNS – an open-source implementation of an authoritative DNS server – has been released. Despite the version number, the software isn’t changing much. There are slightly more new features than in common feature releases such as 2.9. However, the features added in 3.0 don’t change any behaviour, unless the user turns them on. The migration from 2.9 to 3.0 is therefore seamless.
Authors: Kubernetes 1.19 Release Team
Finally, we have arrived with Kubernetes 1.19, the second release for 2020, and by far the longest release cycle lasting 20 weeks in total. It consists of 33 enhancements: 12 enhancements are moving to stable, 18 enhancements in beta, and 13 enhancements in alpha.
The 1.19 release was quite different from a regular release due to COVID-19, the George Floyd protests, and several other global events that we experienced as a release team.
This release changes WAL compression from opt-in to default. WAL compression will prevent a downgrade to v2.10 or earlier without deleting the WAL. Disable WAL compression explicitly by setting the command line flag --no-storage.tsdb.wal-compression if you require downgrading to v2.10 or earlier.
